This course is designed to provide students the theories and practices of conducting research in English Language Teaching. Students are expected to be able to understand the concept, process and procedures in conducting research using both qualitative and quantitative approaches as a preparation of taking others course: Language Research (semester %) and Seminar Thesis Proposal (semester 7). The given theories and practices provided in this course cover how to find research topic completed with the research question(s) or problem(s), to relate the topic to some valid and reliable teaching learning theories, and apply the right research approach as part of research methodology. After completing this course, students are expected to be able to write mini thesis proposal independently in the context of English Language Teaching and present it in a seminar.
